IHSS&IWA26 / BRNO / CZECHIA / 23–28 August 2026 BOOK OF ABSTRACTS 142 Soil Organic Matter, Caustobiolites, and Biochar Thursday, 27 August 2026 / Hall B biostimulatory functions. The interaction of bacterial exopolysaccharide hydrogels with humic-derived organic matter is of particular interest, as it may contribute to enhanced microbial habitat formation, improved water retention, and stabilization of biologically active carbon within the rhizosphere. In addition, the applicability of the developed materials for seed encrustation was evaluated, demonstrating their potential as multifunctional carriers for targeted microbial delivery. The presented approach highlights the potential of self-produced microbial hydrogels as sustainable bio-based materials linking microbial activity, extracellular polymer production, and organic matter management in agricultural soils. By integrating PGPR, exopolysaccharide matrices, and humic-based amendments into a single formulation, the developed system offers a promising pathway toward improved soil health, enhanced plant performance, and more efficient utilization of biologically active organic matter in agroecosystems.
