BOOK OF ABSTRACTS 177 IHSS&IWA26 / BRNO / CZECHIA / 23–28 August 2026 Friday, 28 August 2026 / Hall C Travel Awardee Presentations free phenolic radical content in respect to soil HA [2]. Conversely the conventional compost-derived HA shows strong aliphatic and O-alkyl signals, reflecting abundant residual lipids, cellulose/ hemicellulose and microbial by-products, similar to those of a soil HA [2]. These results suggest that humic acids derived from biodynamic horn manure are molecularly and chemically distinct from those formed during standard aerobic composting. This study shows that the biodynamic 500 preparations produce humic acids that are more aromatic, condensed and chemically stable (composed e.g. by phenols, flavonoids, etc.) than those formed by conventional composting. Compost-derived HAs remain richer in aliphatic and O-alkyl carbon. Overall biodynamic horn-manure generates a structurally unique and potentially more chemically active humic material [1]. Further research to these humics on the molecular level can be fundamental for a better understanding on the humification pathways and their bioactivity towards plants. References 1. A. Piccolo, M.
