IHSS&IWA26 / BRNO / CZECHIA / 23–28 August 2026 BOOK OF ABSTRACTS 228 Poster Session / Environment, Agriculture, and Forestry Hall A by water which resulted in a decrease in accessible frontal circular area and tortuous pathway through the hydrogel. Its structure is similar to soil. The main reason is the content of humic acid as an active substance representing the soil organic matter. It is expected that pharmaceuticals diffuse through the hydrogel and interact with humic acids in its structure. The interactions result into immobilization of pharmaceuticals. As a consequence of this, the concentration of free movable antibiotic decreases which is the principle of the self-cleaning ability of soil. It is assumed that a local equilibrium between free movable antibiotic molecules and immobilized ones can be attained and this equilibrium is shifted to formed complexes. In order to confirm this hypothesis, adsorption/ desorption experiments were performed. It was confirmed that the leachability of antibiotics from formed complexes is very low and pharmaceuticals remain “locked” in humic structure. References 1. M. Klučáková, M. Kalina, P. Sedláček, L.
