IHSS&IWA26 / BRNO / CZECHIA / 23–28 August 2026 BOOK OF ABSTRACTS 238 Poster Session / Environment, Agriculture, and Forestry Hall A on the integrated biomarker response to photosynthesis, C. vulgaris exhibited a higher sensitivity of photopigments to both leachates than R. subcapitata. However, the integrated biomarker responses related to enzymatic stress response and oxidative stress indicated a similar overall oxidative and enzymatic stress response in both species exposed to the leachates. In conclusion, these results broaden our understanding of species-specific responses to microplastic leachates and their potential implications for species composition in aquatic environments that may consequently alter NOM. We acknowledge the difficulties in translating laboratory findings to field conditions; this study will contribute to a better understanding of the impacts of MPL on NOM composition. References 1. S.
