IHSS&IWA26 / BRNO / CZECHIA / 23–28 August 2026 BOOK OF ABSTRACTS 262 Poster Session / Technologies and Applications Hall A Using the carbon contents of HA and Non predicted from the fluorescence indices, the carbon content of FA in the alkaline-soluble fraction could also be estimated, and the predicted FA values showed a strong correlation with the measured FA carbon content (R² = 0.9016). Consequently, the carbon contents of dissolved humic substances could be predicted without separation, demonstrating the potential for estimating carbon yields. This study represents the first attempt to synthesize AHS using pectin, and the proposed fluorescence indices provide a rapid, non-separative approach for monitoring and managing the AHS synthesis process. Furthermore, pectinderived AHS synthesis expands the range of biomass-derived precursors and offers a promising strategy for the valorization of fruit waste biomass. References 1. Zema, D.
